Tips on Shopping for Eco Friendly Sex Toys

Sex toys are fun to play with, but they certainly feel a lot better when you can rest easy with the knowledge that they were produced using ethical and eco friendly methods. There’s a lot to be said for a toy that stimulates you properly, but you can say even more for one that represents a step forward for sexual development and well-being around the globe. Environmental friendliness is also a plus, which is why shopping for eco friendly sex toys through Vavven™ is a smart and responsible consumer choice.

Manufacturing Environmental Standards

Vavven reviews all of their sex toy environmental manufacturing standards. If the sex toy or lubricant manufacturing factory does not have independent environmental certification, we use our manufacturing questionnaire which looks at environmental protection in the following areas: government certification; environmental policy; and the environmental management system, where we are interested in management of waste water, hazardous waste, and air pollution.

High level manufacturing management review, discuss areas they do not currently comply with (we do not work with companies with issues we consider deal breakers), provide their factory names and locations, and provide Vavven the right to audit any of their factories at least once every 18 months.

Magical Period Sex … How To Make It Amazing Every Day Of The Month

Magical Period Sex … How To Make It Amazing Every Day Of The Month

I feel like there’s a lot of myths and stigma surrounding period sex that I‘m ready to bust.

Firstly, I’m sick and tired of seeing people’s faces screw up when the topic of periods and sex are brought up in conversation.

Seriously, it’s time to open up to the possibility that there’s SO much more to period sex than just a traditional penetrative fu*k. Time to get over your period phobia.

So, if this sounds like you, and you’re one of those who feels a little ‘icked’ out at the thought of it (or you have a lover who is), here’s a few reasons as to why it’s time to change your tone and embrace magical period sex once and for all.

Embrace the fact that periods are a very normal, natural and beautiful part of life

Menstruation is a right of passage … it’s a beautiful sacred time of each month.

Bleeding on a monthly basis means that our bodies are healthy and cleansing … bleeding is so normal, natural and pure.

If you’re ready to honour love in their entirety, you must honour every little piece of them, even if that includes blood.

Think of period sex as an opportunity to think outside the box sexually.

The options are endless when it comes to fu*cking your lover when they bleeding.

If you’re not ready for traditional penetrative sex, here’s some alternatives to consider:

  • Kissing for hours on end. Yes, JUST kissing can lead to orgasm and deep pleasure.
  • Energetically fucking with tantric breathing and eye gazing … welcome to the world of energetic orgasm … mind blowing
  • Cunnilingus (get over your fear and go down below with a tampon in … because the tampon contains all the blood the pussy will be super clean and it’s a extremely intimate form of oral sex)
  • A bit of fellatio (no explanation necessary, right? Worship your both cock and pussy)
  • Anal play (leading into anal sex if you’re both keen to go there … because let’s face it, anal sex is the perfect alternative if that’s your thing)
  • Mutual masturbation – both self pleasuring next to each other, or watching each other from across the room (this is a personal favourite)

Get dirty and just get to it, you have nothing to lose

If you’re ready to dive in deep and embrace traditional penetrative period sex in it’s entirety, here’s a few simple ways you can make it an enjoyable experience:

  • Jump in the shower. F*ck in the shower and the water will naturally wash away the blood.
  • Use towels – place a couple of towels on the bed (or wherever you choose to have sex) and minimise post-sex clean up
  • Embrace the blood. Yep, that’s right, the reality is you are going to SEE blood, embrace it, it’s ok and it’s natural.

The Big Issue

Who would have thought seventeen years could slip by so soon. The first time I bought The Big Issue, I was pregnant, riding my pushy in the pouring rain, and I noticed a man standing in a raincoat near the station selling something.

Amazed at his work ethic, I took a look, and that is where my journey with The Big Issue began. I’m now proud to say the short person gestating seventeen years ago became a tall person who now hunts out The Big Issue wherever he can.

The Big Issue is one of Australia’s oldest and most successful social enterprises, providing anyone who walks through their door with equality of opportunity. They help people to help themselves by using a commercial model of selling magazines where the vendor retains half of the sale value.

It’s worth remembering that it could be anyone of us in need at any time, there are so many factors in life that are out of our control; many factors the product of luck. And luck can be a biatch sometimes!

This year is The Big Issue’s 20th birthday ~Happy Birthday!!!~. In those twenty years on the streets: more than 6500 people have sold the magazine; more than 10 million magazines have been sold, generating $23 million in income for vendors; and who could possibly put a true figure on the self-esteem and dignity they have been a part of growing.

But if you are an economic figures person, this one is rather impressive. With approximately 540 vendors working across Australia annually, an approximate total annual economic benefit of $11 million is provided to the wider community through a reduction in demand for social services such as hospitals, welfare support, emergency services and correctional facilities. That’s $11 million annually.

The Big Issue is just super amazing in their own right, but it’s also their birthday, so give them a hand. Head to their site, find your local vendor, purchase their 2017 calendar, and gift it to someone else this Christmas to spread love.

3 Signs You’re A Sexually Empowered Being

Vavven Sexually

Becoming a sexually empowered being isn’t always a smooth ride…in fact for many of us it can be painful and challenging and it takes a brave person to move through the journey with confidence and courage.

Feeling sexually empowered is a unique experience and feeling for each individual…for some it may be about power and strength, for others it may be about vulnerability and love.

So, what are the signs of a sexually empowered being?

Sign #1 You are confident within yourself

Confident people are sexy.

Those who are confident with who they are and what they love are a pleasure to be around.

Those who are confident in all areas of their life are more often than not, confident when enjoying sex.

Feeling confident is an essential ingredient to feeling empowered sexually.

Lovers who are confident are a pleasure to f*ck.

Sign #2 You are open to self-development

Self-development is a key ingredient to feeling empowered.

Those who have the courage and wisdom to search within and deal with their shadows are brave.

Brave people face what it is that’s holding them back from being the best version of themselves and move through life feeling lighter, brighter and energised.

Don’t be afraid to face the scary stuff that moves within you and heal old wounds that hold you back from opening wide to sex and intimacy.

Sign #3 You accept and adore your body

Sexually empowered beings look after their body and learn to love and adore it just the way it is.

Our body is what contains our soul…sexually empowered beings respect and love their skin, their genitals and their minds. Sexually empowered beings worship their body as they would worship a lover.

How To Create Space For Fresh Sexual Energy by Juliet Allen

Sex Sex Toy Safety Education

Our body is a temple for sexual energy and so is the home that we live in. With this in mind, it’s important that we create space within our house so that sexual energy can flow freely.

Have you ever walked into someone’s home and felt a yucky energy?

Most of us have experienced this at some stage and let’s face it, that kind of energy isn’t associated with amazing sexual pleasure.

Imagine if there’s dirty energy in our home and we bring a new lover into the space … this can definitely impact negatively on the intimacy and sex with that lover.

So what are the key elements of a clear, energetic, sexy space? And how do we create that? Here are three practical ways you can create space for sex in your house today:

Tip #1 Sage your home

Sage is used to burn away bad energy and spirits and clear the way for new energy to be birthed.

Purchase a sage stick at your local health food store and light it using a candle.

While the sage is burning walk around your home with the stick and allow the smoke to gently cleanse the energy in each room.

Tip #2 Sleep in beautiful sheets

We spend hours and hours in bed … so we may as well sleep in great quality bed sheets.

Visit your local homeware store and buy the best quality sheets you can buy … don’t be afraid to spend money on such luxury!

Great quality sheets encourage great quality sex.

Tip #3 Clear clutter and throw out stuff you don’t use

Cluttered house = cluttered head.

Spring clean your home today and throw out stuff that you don’t use.

Clear the energy in your home by clearing out items of clothing, kitchen utensils, bed linen, books etc that no longer serve you.

Cleaning clutter allows for new energy to flow into your home and creates space for new sexual energy to arrive.

Food and Sex

Vavven Food and Sex

Food and sex, we’re either talking about them, doing them, or thinking about doing them.

It’s a topic of discussion amongst the young and old and yet, more often than not, a lot of us struggle with actually having enough energy throughout the day to enjoy intimacy & sex with our partners or, dare I say, with ourselves.

There are many factors that need to be considered when thinking about our drive for sex, but for now let’s look at how adding superfoods into your diet can up your libido and zest for life.

Maca Root

Known as ‘Nature’s Viagra’, Maca is renowned for increasing sex drive and fertility.

Maca is a simple, natural and nutritionally rich superfood found in Peru.

Traditionally it’s used as a folk remedy to increase stamina, energy, sexual function and libido.

The benefits of Maca are endless, but some of the main ones to keep in mind are:

  • enhancement of libido (sex drive)
  • stimulates fertility
  • increases testosterone levels (keep in mind those of us with higher levels of testosterone often have a higher sex drive)
  • helps fight against erectile dysfunctions and impotency
  • increases vaginal lubrication…

let’s face it, it’s a WIN WIN with Maca.

Mix it into yoghurt, smoothies, baking, raw chocolate & salad dressings, or take Maca capsules.

Goji Berries

Goji Berries are known as a strong sexual tonic.

Goji berries increase testosterone levels, improve overall stamina, mood and wellbeing, all of which are vital for an optimum sex life.

Chuck them in salads, on your cereal, smoothies or sprinkled on yoghurt.

Bee Pollen

Bee pollen has every vitamin, mineral, amino acid, antioxidant and other trace element known to us.

In Chinese Medicine, pollen is considered an energy and nutritive tonic with cultures from all over the world using it for a number of different reasons.

Some of the main ways it can benefit you sexually are: improves endurance and vitality, is a potent aphrodisiac, improves fertility, boosts libido and enhances sexual pleasure.

Sprinkle over your cereal, yoghurt, smoothies, ice-cream, or simple consume a teaspoon a day!

Pumpkin Seeds

Pumpkin seeds contain Zinc, which is important in testosterone production and helps sustain sexual desire.

They’re also high in omega-3 fatty acids, which are the precursors of prostaglandins.

Prostaglandins are hormone-like substances that play a key role in sexual desire and sexual health.

Word on the street is that chucking a few pumpkin seeds into your diet will enhance potency, sex drive and fertility.

4 Communication Tips That Will Change Your Sex Life Instantly

Vavven Sex Life

We all know that great communication is the key to a great sex life, but the fact is, communicating about sex is easier said than done.

The topic of sex often feels awkward to bring up, plus it may trigger emotions within us that can leave us feeling vulnerable and raw.

So, how do we feel more comfortable talking about sex? And what’s the best way to bring it up with our partner?

Communication Tip #1 Get clear on your belief system surrounding sex

If you’re committed to a great sex life, it’s important that you explore what your values and beliefs are surrounding the topic of sex.

I recommend journaling about this and getting really clear on how you feel about it and what you want your sex life to look like.

When you have clarity around your views it’s easier to communicate them to your partner.

Communication Tip #2 Find someone outside your relationship to talk to you about sex

Sex is still somewhat taboo and this means that many of us keep quiet and don’t talk to anyone about it (let alone our partners).

If you want to feel more comfortable talking about sex, I recommend you find a sex coach or therapist to bounce ideas off and chat to.

This gives you a healthy, non-judgmental outlet to vent.

Communication Tip #3 Be open to listening and respecting the views of your partner

Stop thinking that you are ‘right’ and your partner is ‘wrong’.

You both have different views and experiences of sex, be open to listening to your partner and respecting what they say and how they feel.

Communication Tip #4 Feel confident in who you are sexually and what you stand for

Confidence is sexy!

Don’t hold back in embracing yourself as a sexual being and this will shine through in your communication.

Identify if you feel any shame and guilt around sex (most of us do) and do your best to deal with that (again, find a sex coach).

Once you’ve dealt with the guilt and shame you will feel more confident and able to embrace your true sexual nature.

Sexual health is about more than just safe sex

Vavven Sexual Health

Sexual health is not just about safe sex, it’s about the complete package.

Regular, healthy sex is fun and pleasurable and creates a unique opportunity to experience intimacy and connection with your sexual partner.

Sex is also very good for your physical and mental health and wellbeing.

The benefits are endless, so I’ve put together a list of my top favourites.

Next time you choose watching TV over jumping under the covers with your partner, think again and refresh your memory as to why sex is essential for your overall health and happiness.

Regular Exercise

The most basic health benefit of sex is regular exercise.

Sex counts as cardio!

That’s right, a sex session can burn up to 250 calories, depending on the length of the session.

Regular exercise leads to lower blood pressure and is a great workout for your abs, buttocks, muscles in your back and thighs.

I can’t think of a better excuse to skip my morning walk and work up a sweat in bed.

A Healthy, Youthful Glow

Sex does wonders for the complexion and naturally creates a healthy post-sex glow.

Rumour also has it that people who enjoy regular healthy sex appear 10 times younger than their actual age!

Regular sex promotes the release of testosterone and oestrogen, both of these hormones keep the body looking, and feeling, younger and more vibrant.

Stress Less

During sex, a bunch of oxytocin and endorphins are released into your brain – these are the feel-good hormones that activate pleasure and create feelings of intimacy and relaxation.

There’s nothing quite like the feeling of post-sex bliss that floods your body whilst resting after a great sex session. Soak up those feelings and take them into the rest of your day.

Confidence Boost

Sex is quite possibly the best way to boost your confidence and feel fabulous.

Desiring another, and feeling desired by your partner, is a sure fire way to feel fabulous.

Great sex is empowering and pleasuring your partner is an amazing feeling.

Better Sleep

Orgasm is quite possibly the best way to lull yourself to sleep.

During orgasm, the hormone prolactin is released into the brain. Research shows that prolactin levels are higher during sleep, which could suggest a strong relationship between the two.

On the other hand, a wild sex session may have the opposite effect and your energy may be boosted after sex.

Either way there’s nothing wrong with a high-energy sex session to end the day.
